The original name for the Kullu valley was Kulantapith -the end of the habitable world.It is a narrow alpine valley drained by the Beas River and enclosed by the Pir Panjal to the north,the Bara Bangahal range to the west and the Parvati range to the east.This view is looking northwest over Vashisht and the River Beas towards the Solang Valley and the Rohtang Pass.
